Everyone who has an interest in photography is welcome to join our society. We cater for all levels of experience from the most inexperienced newcomer right through to the professional. We have members whose interests lie in different fields of photography…..
For example Mono prints, Colour prints, Digital, Macro, Nature. Most members have computer software, and their own ink-jet printers for printing their images, but a few haven’t, and it is not mandatory. There are good on-line reasonably priced printing firms.
Joining The Society
If you would like to join the Isle of Man Photographic Society, simply download and fill in the membership form Membership / Change Of Details, under the Information tab, Documents and Downloads (copies are usually available at the club ) and bring it along with the appropriate joining fee to one of the club meetings.
Ordinary Membership which is for Isle of Man residents costs £30 per season and is payable on 1st October each year i.e. the beginning of the season. Members joining after the 1st of January in the relevant season will be required to pay a reduced fee of £20.
This fee entitles the Member to attend all weekly meetings and to enter competitions. (A small additional entry fee is required for the Annual Competition). The member is also entitled to attend and to vote at the Annual General Meeting.
Non-members may attend club meetings for a fee of £2 per visit but may not enter competitions or vote at the AGM.
Non Resident Membership is available for anyone living worldwide who would like to enter our competitions. This costs £15 per annum.
All members who have paid the appropriate subscription are encouraged to enter the Society’s various competitions but, in the case of non resident members, their submission of any digital or print images to the Competition Secretary also signifies their acceptance that the Society will not be responsible for returning the same or for any postage (or other) costs relating thereto. Moreover, if a non resident member becomes a competition winner, the win will be acknowledged by way of a signed certificate only. The Society does not allow any trophy to leave the Isle of Man.
Junior Membership is free to those aged 16 and under or are in full time education. However, youngsters falling into this category must, at all times, be accompanied by an adult (parent/guardian or someone nominated by them) who will be responsible for their safety and wellbeing whilst attending any Society event whether on the Society’s premises or elsewhere.
