The General Data Protection Regulations – effective 25th May 2018

At the Isle of Man Photographic Society, we do all we can to respect your rights to privacy and the protection of your personal information. We hold only very basic personal information, essentially name, address, contact details and photographic qualifications, but which may also include photographs submitted via the Society’s website. The information we hold will have been provided by you, or created through the use of our website service. The Society will only retain such information for its current members – personal information held for anyone failing to re-join the Society at the start of a new season will be deleted from our records within one month of the start.

The Data Controller of your information is the Isle of Man Photographic Society and the Data Processors are the committee of the society.

Your rights under the regulations
You have certain legal rights to control what we do with your information. This includes a right to get access to your personal information; to request us to correct or update incorrect information; to object to or request that we restrict processing your information in certain circumstances; and to receive the personal information you provided in a portable format.

Speak to the Society’s President, jeremybroomesmith@gmail.com  at the earliest opportunity. Contact any one of the above by email detailing your request.
It is important to understand that in some cases, exercising your rights may mean that we are no longer able to provide you with our website services.

How we use your information
We use your information primarily to provide you with details of the Society’s business, and for the day to day running of our activities.

Sharing your information outside the Society
We keep your information confidential, and it will only be shared with those bodies essential for the running of our activities (such as the L&CPU).

Marketing
Unless you have told us not to, we will send you such information relating to the Society’s activities and business that we think will be of interest and relevant to you. If you change your mind and no longer want to receive these communications, you can tell us at any time using the above contact details in the Section “Your Rights”.

Communications about your membership
We may contact you with information relevant to the operation and maintenance of your membership by a variety of means, including via the website (www.iomps.com), our Facebook page (Isle of Man Photographic Society), email, text message, post and/or telephone. If at any point in the future you change your contact details you should tell us promptly about those changes.
